Danube Delta Research Jubilee
In 2020, we celebrated our jubilee, meaning 50 years of relevant achievements to the community’s benefit: conducting fundamental and applied research for scientific support of the management of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve (DDBR) and other wetland areas of national and international interest, with particular focus on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable use.

One of our main yearly objective is to organize the „Deltas and Wetlands” international symposium that, in 2021, between 13th and 18th of September, will reach its 28th edition. In this special year, we are honored to share this joy with you. So, please accept our invitation to join us for a memorable experience and to also celebrate our jubilee anniversary. The event will take place in the same traditional location: Tulcea city, Romania. All the scientific papers will be published in the “Deltas and Wetlands” book of abstracts and will be supervised by a scientific committee.

In order to participate to this special event please fill up the form taking into consideration the following details:
- Participation fee: 100 Euro (until July 02, 2021), 150 Euro (after July 02, 2021);
- Trip into the Danube Delta (September 17, 2021) – 50 Euro, that may be paid at the symposium registration;
- The participation fee shall be paid in the following accounts:

- RO91BRDE370SV01511913700, BRD Tulcea in EURO;
- Students, masters and PhD students do not recquire participation fee;
- Deadline: August 20, 2021 – Submission of presentations/posters and pre-registration.

SELECTED ARTICLES FOR ISI PUBLICATION
The Symposium creates the possibility to identify and discuss the scientific aspects related to the implementation of the European Environmental Directives at national level as well as those related to the cross-border and interregional cooperation. Due to a fruitful collaboration between our institute and BENA (Balkan Environmental Association), 5 selected papers will be published in their scientific journal entitled JEPE (Journal of Environmental Protection and Ecology) which is quoted and abstracted in the Thomson Reuters (Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch*) and Web Science, Elsevier Bibliographic Databases (Geobase, Scopus 2008), CABI, Ulrich Database, Chemical Abstracts, Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR). 3D Initiative Workshop
On September 14, 2021, a workshop of the 3D Initiative (Decarbonization Danube Delta) will take place, attended by representatives of the European Commission, central, regional and local authorities in Romania, universities, research institutes and private environment (SMEs and NGOs) from Romania, Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Portugal. The goal of the workshop is to present the experience of the 3D action group and to reveal the need for sustainable actions and activities in the Danube Delta.
