The “DANUBE DELTA” NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (DDNIRD) – processes the personal data you provide on this website (www.ddni.ro) safely and only for the specified purposes, according to the requirements of Law no. 677/2001 for the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, amended and supplemented, and in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation no. 679 / 2016) and the European ePrivacy Directive.
DDNIRD is a Romanian legal entity under the coordination of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization (MRID), with headquarters in the Municipality of Tulcea, Str. Babadag no. 165, Tulcea County, web address: https:/ddni.ro
The policy regarding the protection and security of personal data of DDNIRD is to collect only the personal data necessary for the stated purposes and to request the data subjects to communicate to us only those personal data strictly necessary for the fulfillment of these purposes.
This commitment to respecting confidentiality refers to all aspects regarding the processing of personal data and ensures compliance with all principles related to processing established by the legislation in force, as well as by Regulation (EU) 679.

Definitions, Principles and Targeted Persons

Personal data 

Any information regarding an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”).

Identifiable person 

A person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or one or more specific elements, specific to his physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity.

Processing 

Any operation or set of operations performed on personal data or sets of personal data, with or without the use of automated means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or modification, extraction, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or making available in any other way, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

Operator 

Physical or legal person, public authority, agency or other body that, alone or together with others, establishes the purposes and means of personal data processing; when the purposes and means of processing are established by union law or domestic law, the operator or the specific criteria for its designation may be provided for in union law or domestic law.

The person authorized by the operator 

Means the physical or legal person, public authority, agency or other body that processes personal data on behalf of the operator.

Supervisory authority 

Means the regulatory or supervisory authority responsible for the application of the regulation. In Romania, this role is assumed by the National Authority for Supervision of Personal Data Processing (NASPDP).

WHAT TYPES OF DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

The personal data we collect or store from you will only be processed after DDNIRD ensures that it complies with the requirements of the Regulation regarding the legality and legitimacy of the processing of this data:

  • give your consent to the processing of personal data for one or more specific purposes.
  • the processing is necessary for the execution of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request before the conclusion of a contract (exception to consent);
  • the processing is necessary in order to fulfill a legal obligation that falls to DDNIRD (exception from consent);
  • the processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, unless your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms prevail, which require the protection of personal data, in particular when it comes to personal data of a child (exception of consent).

Data provided to us may include:

  • Identification data: your first and last name, scientific title, function, department/team, CNP, IP address, username, password, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, data contained in CVs, biometric data (voice, image), data collected during registration and participation in events/actions organized by DDNIRD or with the participation of DDNIRD (photos, videos, posts on social networks)
  • data about your computer/device and how you and your device interact with us and our products.

DDNIRD undertakes to use the collected data only in accordance with the stated purposes and not to publish, sell, rent, license, transfer, etc. the database containing information relating to the personal or special data of the persons concerned to any third party not involved in the fulfillment of the stated purposes.

DDNIRD does not transfer personal data to a third country or an international organization.

PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

DDNIRD collects and processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • ensuring the execution of research-development-innovation contracts
  • activities related to project management
  • fulfilling the objectives of communication, dissemination, marketing and promotion, organization of events – communication on media channels and social networks
  • human resources management, document archive
  • monitoring/security of DDNIRD persons, premises, assets
  • resolving petitions/requests for public information

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA

Personal data provided by you directly will only be stored for the period necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
After the respective period expires, the corresponding data is deleted. Only those personal data that are part of acts/documents for which the law provides for an archiving term according to the own archival nomenclature, drawn up according to the National Archives Law no. 16/1996, with subsequent amendments and additions. At the expiration of the legal term of archiving, they will be destroyed.

CONTACT THROUGH THE WEBSITE

The website https://ddni.ro allows electronic contact as well as direct communication with us, by filling in the name and an email address.
If a data subject contacts us by email or via the contact form, the personal data voluntarily transmitted by him is stored automatically. Such personal data, voluntarily submitted by a data subject to DDNIRD, are stored for the purpose of processing and contacting the data subject.
DDNIRD guarantees that your personal data, collected through the contact form on the website, will be used only until the problem communicated by it is resolved, after which it will become exclusively statistical data. The data will be kept for a maximum of 3 years from the moment of contact by email or through the contact form. At the end of the storage period, the data will be deleted from the database of DDNIRD and authorized persons (if applicable).

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE ABOUT YOUR DATA

By virtue of your right to control the personal data we hold about you, where the processing is carried out on the basis of consent, you can opt to:

  • The right to be informed – refers to the right to obtain correct information about data processing, in terms of how your personal data is used.
  • The right of access to data – means that you have the right to obtain from us a confirmation that we are processing your personal data or not, and if so, we provide you with access to this data, as well as information about how it is processed.
  • The right to data portability – refers to the fact that you can receive personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as the transmission of this data to another operator.
  • The right to object to data processing – refers to the right to object to the processing of personal data for well-founded and legitimate reasons related to the particular situation, for personal data to be the subject of processing, to the extent that the legal conditions are met
  • The right to rectification – refers to the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate data, as well as the completion of incomplete data
  • The right to deletion (the right to be forgotten) – means that you have the right to delete your collected data in any of the following situations: when they are no longer necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, upon withdrawal of consent, upon opposition to processing , unlawful collection, deletion to comply with a legal obligation.
  • The right to restrict processing – it can be exercised if the accuracy of the data is disputed for a certain period, sufficient for the verification of the data, if the processing is illegal but the deletion of the data is not desired, only the restriction.
  • The right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automatic processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning the data subject or similarly affects him to a significant extent.
  • The right to address the authorities in the field/justice represents the right to address a complaint to the National Authority for Supervision of Personal Data Processing (NASPDP) and respectively to address the justice for the defense of any rights guaranteed by the applicable legislation in the field of data protection of a personal nature, which were violated.

At the same time, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time in writing, addressed to DDNIRD, this not affecting the processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
