About the Event

The 4th International Jackal and Related Species Symposium (4IJS) will be held on October 7–10, 2026, in Tulcea, Romania, at the gateway to the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. The event will bring together researchers, conservationists, ecologists, wildlife and game management specialists, and hunters to share knowledge and experience on the ecology, conservation, and management of jackals and related species.

The symposium is hosted and organized by the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (INCDDD), with scientific and organizational support provided by GOJAGE. Prior to the symposium, an optional training course, “Jackal Soundscapes: Advanced Bioacoustic Monitoring Techniques” (October 5–6, 2026), will offer practical training in species identification and modern bioacoustic monitoring methods.
