Ștefan HONȚ graduated at the faculty of Animal Husbandry Specializing in Fisheries and Aquaculture at the University of Agronomic Science and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest. During the Faculty, he attended courses of Ecology, Ichthyology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Aquaculture and practical courses at Nucet Fish Farm and Horia Sturgeon Farm.
Employee of the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development Tulcea since 2011 as a researcher in the Sturgeon Research Group (SRG).The main activities are related to sturgeon migration monitoring using telemetry equipment, identifying / analyzing sturgeons spawning habitat and sturgeon feeding habitats, monitoring the presence and abundance of YOY sturgeons during their downstream migration from spawning grounds to the Black Sea and assessment of the sturgeon population status in the Black Sea, Romania.
