Silviu COVALIOV (biologist – botany and phytocoenology – Scientific researcher degree III).Has graduated in 1998, the Transilvania University, Brașov with the diploma of engineer in Environmental Quality Check Specialization. Two years later, he has completed second superior studies in the University “Lucian Blaga” from Sibiu in the field of Ecology and Environmental Protection as biologist – Specialization Botany. Since 2001 he is part of the permanent staff of the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development, working in research and demonstration projects and activities concerning, natural vegetal resources (reed, grasslands, herbs, bee-keeping importance plant species, edible mushrooms) evaluation, flora and vegetation investigations, impact studies, GIS, ecological restoration and information dissemination. He’s expertise is botany and phytocoenology, but nevertheless he’s work has a broader scale. Along he’s activity at Danube Delta National R&D Institute he was also involved in developing and maintaining websites for projects or departments as webmaster. In 2005 he founded the Danube Delta Technological Information Center, a department of dissemination activities within Danube Delta National R&D Institute. He’s efforts started and maintained the activities of this department between 2005 and 2014, as Director of Department. In this period this department was constantly fulfilling the conditions of entity in Romanian Association of Technological Transfer Entities – RENITT. In 2006 he registered this department as a publishing house in Romanian National Library, publishing until today many scientific and awareness rising books, serials and papers. Member in Romanian Bee-keeper’s Association, Tulcea Branch.
