Dr. Aurel NĂSTASE, Dr in Biology, graduated in 2001 the Constanta Ovidius University, Biology Faculty. In 2009 he obtained his PhD within Faculty of Industrial Engineering, University of Dunărea de Jos Galaţi, with the thesis titled “Researches of ichthyofauna diversity in the Danube Delta for sustainable management of fish resources”. As scientific researcher, biologist doctor in Industrial Engineering, with more than 15 years of experience within the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development, he published 4 books chapters, over 35 scientific papers in Romanian and English. He has expertise in Ichthyology and Fisheries for conservation projects in Romanian waters, but special for wetland areas from the Lower Danube Floodplain. In 2003 he got specialized in Fish taxonomy and ecology, but also for fish resources. As project responsible he worked in elaborating fish conservation and stocks management measures, but also as collaborator contributed to the ecological restoration projects for abandoned polders in order to create the methodology of sustainable use of natural resources from wetlands, in order to protect and conserve the fish species, for an ecological equilibrium, stakeholder involvement in flood risk management and spatial planning, in national and international projects.
