Dr. Mihai DOROFTEI was born in Tulcea at 1977. He received the following diplomas:
- B.ASc. Diploma in Ecology (Ecological University of Bucharest, 2004);
- M.Sc. Diploma in Management of Natural Resources (Ecological University of Bucharest, 2005);
- PhD Diploma in Biology (University “Ovidius” of Constanţa, 2010).
Since 2004, he is working at the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (DDNI) – Department of Biodiversity Conservation as researcher. He has developed research activities in the fields of plant species inventory, ecology, invasive plant species, vegetation mapping, natural resources management, plant conservation, monitoring and assessment of Natura 2000 habitats, land- and cityscape ecology, climate change adaptation, lake assessment by aquatic macrophytes, grassland ecology and restoration ecology. He took part in more than 40 research projects. He has more than 40 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He has also contributed in the authoring of 5 book chapters and 3 books. He is a member of Botanical Gardens Association of Romania and Romanian Limnological Society.
