The Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development was created in 1970 as a mixed institute for reed harvesting, fishing, agricultural, forest and cinegetical research and design. Starting in 1970, the founding year of Delta Design Research Institute (ICPDD) has organized two consultants: investment and mechanization. Since 1983, after the State Council decree No. 93 on Program Planning and Operations Integral Delta to 1989 the design department was focused on complex major projects fitting the enclosure fish, reed, forestry, hydro construction, works mechanization in the fisheries and reed, design road transport and marine technology. After 1990 design work was focused on technological support projects applied in the field of ecology and environmental protection: studies and projects for execution of reconstructive ecological and environmental value, feasibility studies, technical projects and execution details for fishing, agriculture, water supply and sewerage works of cadastre, geodesy, cartography, topographical and hydrological studies at the National Institute of Development Research Delta (INCDDD).
