Cristian Trifanov graduated in 2006 the faculty of Geography – Geomorphology in Bucharest followed by the Master degree in 2010 in Geographical Risks and Territorial Planning, now PhD student in Geography – River Morphology. Employed at Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development since October 2007 as a senior researcher in geography with background in Geomorphology and Geomatics. The position’s main tasks are hydro-geomatics surveys, map production, map design and participation in scientific projects like “Beneficiaries and flood risk assessment in Danube Floodplain” – DANUBE FLOODRISK and “NATURA 2000”, GIS collaborator for European Topic Centre on Spatial Information and Analysis, Environment European Agency (EEA), involving a large spectrum of GIS software with a good knowledge of INSPIRE directive and also good knowledge in multimedia design software. Broad participation as collaborator for various environmental scientific projects, workshops and symposiums and also published over 40 scientific papers.
